I used the software GarageBand to edit my radio segment

The final product (Radio Segment)

This is the final radio segment with all the sounds edited and with the interviews and stories of people living in East London and telling about their viewpoints of life in Tower Hamlets.

Editing using GarageBand

Garage Band is the software that has been utilised to edit my radio segment. These screenshots show the editing process of editing my sound elements, interviews, dialogues, music and other sound effects.

The different lines on the timeline shows the level of the sounds: if it is too low or too high. This was done to avoid too much noise and distortion, as a result sounds were analysed and made sure the fitted with the other sounds in order to make the dialogue scenes understandable, so that the audience can hear it.

M2

Presenting to an audience: the final radio segment and sound elements have been presented to an audience to gain feedback.

This is the video for the audience feedback. It shows how I presented my final radio segment to the client and the class, including everyone's feedback and improvements.

D1

A benefit for presenting a product to a focus group is that it allows for a varied amount of answers and different people's viewpoint, which enables the producer to see what are the strengths and weaknesses within the work produced and what could be improved to make the product even better.

From my feedback I received that the background music and soundtrack was really and matched with the radio segment overall. The use of the festival sounds depicting music was synergetic with the content.
One suggestion could be to have the presenter engage with the audience more and create a conversation that flows well and overlaps with the interviewees and the audience. There should be a little bit more awareness of who the presenter is talking to.

Another suggestion for improvement was that when at the start I was describing the borough and the south asian community and culture within it, there could be a further explanation of how that came about and the history of the Dockland and how that influenced migration and trade.
Also specifying the term south asian a bit more, as there is a focus on bengali culture, which is only one element of south asian aspect.

Although south asia is really vast and ethnically and linguistically diverse, there should be a breakdown for better understanding for someone who was a complete outsider, which would have helped locate the bengali culture within it.
